Lithium 100AH Battery Management System

This option replaces the standard flooded lead acid battery pack. The lithium batteries are the best battery option to date. They are essentially maintenance free, can last up to 4 times longer than flooded lead acid batteries, provide consistent performance throughout its full state of charge and temperatures while being competitively priced.
BATTERY PACK- The battery pack contains 24 x 3.2V 100AH cells making up a 76 volt 100AH rated system. Or 7.6 kilowatt. In the case of a continues amp draw of 75 amps (typical average) this battery pack will provide 80 mins of operation. 80 mins at 40 KPH totals about 50 kms. For longer range see 200 AH lithium option. Weight of battery pack is 175 lbs. A 375 lbs weight reduction from the flooded lead acid battery pack helping increasing your payload. Chemistry of these cells are LiMNPo4 (Lithium-ion Manganese Phosphate). Cells are individual replaceable units.

BATTERY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
- The lithium cells are balanced and protected by a extremely well built sophisticated battery management system (BMS). The BMS monitors every cell making sure none of them become overcharged or under discharged at the same time equally balancing them. The BMS has full control of the battery charger and speed controller making sure they operating within the limits of the battery pack. In the event something is not operating within its designed limits first cutbacks will be made and as a last resort complete system will be shutdown with its double redundancy protection system. Basically the system is designed in a way that the operator doesn't need to worry about it. The system will take care of itself and not allow anything out of its designed limits. In the event that the vehicle reaches 10% SOC it will slow its top speed down to about 27 KPH. At 0% SOC vehicle will completely shutdown.

BATTERY WARMING
- Under all the cells is a durable built flexible silicone heating element. The BMS controls this warmer so the cells maintain an operating temperature no less than 10 deg. C. This warmer is a dual element so it operates either off the AC charging cord when plugged in or off the battery pack when unplugged. The main reason for the warming system is under no circumstance should any lithium cells be charged below freezing temperatures. In the event that the cells would be freezing the BMS will warm the batteries first then allow them to charge when at the correct temperature. Keeping the cells at 10 deg. allows consistent performance and range in most typical operating temperatures. For an example it requires 100 watts to maintain the cells at 10 deg. C when ambient temp is -17 deg. C. The pack capacity is 7600 watts. So for every hour of warmer operation you would loose 1.3% SOC. In a typical 10 hour operation period 13%. Which is minimal when compared to flooded lead acid batteries. But in cold climates the vehicle should be plugged in on a daily basis.

LIFE EXPECTANCY
- Basically there are two ways a battery normally fails. It either fails due to age which typically happens at 20 years or it fails due to cycles which can typically happen between 5-20 years.

DIAGNOSTICS
- Vehicle is equipped with a second diagnostics port where a computer can be hooked up allowing a broad range of diagnostic capabilities. The main digital dash display also has a diagnostic screen providing general information.
CHARGING- The battery charger is a fully sealed unit that has a max amperage output of 40 amps. Charger is rated to 3.3KW on 220VAC and 1.25KW on 120VAC. Vehicle can be plugged into the most common 15 amp 120 volt inlet (NEMA 5-15) or for recommended optimal charging 20 amp 220 volt inlet (NEMA 6-20). Recharge time from 0-100% is 7 hours (14% per hour) on 120VAC and 2.5 hours (40% per hour) on 220VAC. Next to the inlet plug is a charge indicator light representing that the charger or/and warmer is operational. For faster charge times see lithium w/6.6KW charger.

HIGHLIGHTS- Can last up to 4 times longer than flooded lead acid. Weighs 375lbs lighter. Can charge twice as fast. Consistent power performance throughout the full state of charge. Consistent vehicle driving range in cold vs hot climates. Fully integrated intelligent system with complete diagnostic capabilities.
